Brianna & Doug {Charlevoix, MI Castle Farms Wedding}

We love a good love story (obviously….the whole wedding photographer thing….) but Brianna + Doug are like the make your teeth hurt sweet kind of love story that has you crying on and off throughout the day. Working with these two was such an honor and pleasure.

Their beautiful day started along side of Lake Michigan, which is the best Charlevoix has to offer! The guys had a great house on top of a hill overlooking the lake, and the ladies got ready at the wonderful Weathervane Terrace.

Brianna’s dress was simply stunning. Understated on the hanger but DANG as soon as she stepped into it. Her details fit her vibe perfectly. She absolutely knew how to pull her gorgeous look together.

These two opted for a first look and OMG are we glad they did. This first look has gone down as one of our most emotional first looks ever. If you’re on the fence about a first look and you think it isn’t a special moment between the two of you, just watch this one play out.

See?! Awwww….hahah Doug literally could not stop crying. It was absolutely amazing. These two have been through so much together and you could just feel the love throughout every moment of the day. It was just so special…We got in some bride and groom and bridal party portraits before we took off for the ceremony!

The day just kept being amazing. We headed off to their ceremony at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, MI.  Needless to say, Castle Farms is one of the premier locations to get married in Northern Michigan. We shoot there pretty much every weekend in the summer and it’s always amazing. This wedding was no different!

The best part of doing the first look is we’re able to still go out for more portraits after the ceremony if we need to! If you would like to travel somewhere like Brianna and Doug did, we have time for that! So we did! We took these guys back to Michigan Beach in Charlevoix!

And then we headed back to the Castle to get some lovely sunset photos with our bride and groom! You have to love Golden Hour…

We then headed in for the reception which was just another opportunity for us to cry behind our cameras. Did we mention that these two were quite the DIYers? They made this AMAZING floral ladder piece that hung over their head table for the reception. It was stunning!

It was an absolutely stunning night with an amazing couple! We love working with couples that appreciate what we do and leave a mark on our souls like these two did. So many wonderful couples that we’ve worked with over the years, each one has added something to who we are as photographers today.

We hope we have the opportunity to meet you and capture how your love story is told.
