TP+D is Looking for a Second Shooter!

Hey Friends!

I can’t believe how crazy this last year has been for Tatum Photo and Design. I honestly cannot say enough how totally blessed I have been over these past few years. It would only be in my wildest dreams that I would have seen my business grow by almost 100% in less then a years time! With that being said, business is booming and we need another shooter on our team!

Hiring a second shooter is nerve racking! Everyone has a camera and thinks they have what it takes and honestly that is almost never the case. I take my job very seriously. Seriously enough that I went to school for it, pursued my education and I’m constantly studying new techniques. Digital Photography is ever changing and there is always something new and exciting going on. I’m looking for someone who will work well with myself and the other members of my team and has the potential for more. If you’re interested, keep reading!

A Little About Me:

I started Tatum Photo and Design while I was in college. It was just a dream of mine. I have always had a passion for photography but was always too scared to step out and just start the business. I created this business as a school project, and then realized that I couldn’t stop thinking about the possibilities. So with my husbands support, I just did it. I have given this business everything I have. Blood (legit), sweat (you sweat when you work hard!) and tears (oh so many) have been shed over this business. I see it as an ever growing and changing entity that one day will employ several crazy awesome creatives full time. Right now I’m looking for a Second Shooter to assist on some of the 2013 weddings we have coming up. If the chemistry is awesome, then there is definite potential for a future partnership. I am just looking for someone to give my brides and grooms their all, just like I do.

About the Position:

+You have to be able to be fun. Just straight up. We LOVE to laugh and on the day of a crazy wedding, your brides and grooms need you to be fun and outgoing and creative. I cannot tell you all the times I have totally embarrassed myself just to get the bridal party to laugh for a good picture. Plus, who wants to work a 12-14 hour day with a boring staff? Not me. So definitely looking for someone who wants to be creative and have fun!
+This Second Shooter position will require you to be available for most of the weddings we have booked for the 2013 season. You won’t be the only Second Shooter we have, but when you commit to a wedding, we require that you fulfill that commitment unless there is a SERIOUS emergency.
+Must own DSLR (we shoot Nikon, so that is helpful if you do as well, but not a requirement) and lenses.
+Must have your own strobe with diffuser.
+Must have some experience in photography with an understanding on how to use their camera.
+Someone who is reliable and understands the importance of timeliness. Weddings almost NEVER get rescheduled, so we have to stick to our commitments!
+Second Shooter will be compensated at an hourly rate which will be based on experience and capability.

Most importantly, I am looking for someone with a creative eye. Tatum P+D is about creating images that are different. A creative eye can’t be taught. It’s something you either have, or you don’t. Technical skills can be taught, but I can’t teach you to be imaginative.

Don’t Worry…

You DO NOT have to be a professional to apply for this position. Everyone starts somewhere. You do have to have some skill and show a portfolio of work that you have done. Your style has to flow with the Tatum Photo + Design look and feel.
I (Tatum) will be solely responsible for the editing of all images captured for clients. This is how I maintain image quality.
I am willing to train the right person, but you must own your own equipment and have an understanding of how to use it.

I’m looking to work with someone who is hungry to learn, who has the “eye” for creating creative imagery. If you think you have what it takes, please send me an e-mail to: tatumphotoanddesign@gmail.com with the following:

+Your Name
+Mailing Address
+A list of all photography related equipment
+Date of most recent work
+A link to a sample of your work

We will send you an application when we get your e-mail. If you’re interested, don’t delay! The wedding season is quickly approaching and we have stuff to do! Let’s DO THIS! =)
